Terms of use of the ELARION simulator

VERSION 2026-10-13

This is a translation provided for convenience. The Portuguese version of these terms is the one that prevails in case of any difference in interpretation.

This document governs the use of the ELARION magnetic resonance console simulator, made available by IMAGIX through individual, authenticated access. By confirming acceptance on the sign-in screen, the user declares that they have read and agree with what follows.

1. Purpose

The simulator is intended exclusively for training in the operation of a magnetic resonance console, in a controlled environment. It is not a medical device, does not replace training and supervision on real equipment and must not be used for clinical decisions.

2. Personal and non-transferable access

  1. The username and password are personal. The user is responsible for everything done with their credentials and must not share them.
  2. Access is granted for the user's own use, within the training programme to which the user is linked, and may be suspended or ended by IMAGIX at any time.

3. Intellectual property

  1. The simulator, including the code, the physics model, the anatomical models, the protocol library, the scenarios, the texts, the review material and the images, is the property of IMAGIX and is protected by copyright and computer program legislation.
  2. Access to the simulator does not transfer any right over it. Only a limited, non-exclusive, revocable and non-transferable licence of use is granted.
  3. Without prior written authorisation from IMAGIX, it is not permitted to: copy, save, download or reproduce the pages, the code or the data of the simulator, in whole or in part; decompile, deobfuscate, reverse engineer or attempt to reconstruct the source code; redistribute, publish, sublicense, rent or make the simulator available to third parties; use the simulator or parts of it to create a derivative or competing product; remove or alter ownership notices.

4. Access log

To protect the system and its content, IMAGIX records access to the simulator: identification of the user, date and time, pages and resources accessed, IP address and browser identification. These records are used for security, auditing and investigation of misuse, and are handled according to the applicable data protection legislation.

Technical errors. When a page of the simulator has a malfunction in your browser, the simulator sends IMAGIX a technical report of the error: the message, the point in the code where it happened, the page, the browser, the language and, in the console, the exam and the stage you were in. The report is linked to your account, but it does not include your name, your e-mail, the full address of the page or anything you typed. It is seen only by the IMAGIX platform team, is used only to fix defects and is deleted 90 days later.

5. Training data

The results of the simulated exams, with the scores and the criteria assessed, are stored and associated with the user's account, to follow their performance and for aggregated, anonymous use in rankings and statistics of the training programme.

6. Non-compliance

Non-compliance with these terms authorises IMAGIX to suspend or end access immediately, without prejudice to the applicable legal measures, including for infringement of copyright and computer program rights.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated. The version in force is the one shown on this page, and acceptance of a new version will be requested on the sign-in screen.

8. Registration data

  1. Whoever creates an account through registration provides full name, e-mail, WhatsApp (optional), profession, level of education, educational institution (for students), address with country and their goal with the simulator.
  2. This data is used to assess the access request, since access to the simulator is being opened gradually; to contact the user about their access; and for aggregated statistics that do not identify anyone. It is not sold or passed on to third parties, except when required by law.
  3. The processing is based on the consent given at registration, under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018).
  4. The data is kept while the account exists. A refused registration is deleted 180 days after the decision, and a registration whose e-mail was never confirmed is deleted 30 days after it was created. The access log follows section 4.
  5. The user may ask for access to, correction or deletion of their data at any time, by writing to privacy@imagix.tech.

9. Record of actions during the exam

During each exam, the simulator records the actions you take on the console, with the time of each one: parameters changed, position of the slice box, patient positioning, communication over the intercom, use of contrast, acquisitions and warnings. The record does not include screen recording, video or mouse movement. It can be seen by the class teacher and by the institution administrator, only for exams in academic activities, and by the IMAGIX platform team, for teaching follow-up and support. The simulator uses the record to check the count of some grading criteria: repeated and skipped sequences, ignored warnings, emergencies, breath-holds not sustained, the safety checklist, the weight checked on the scale and the exam time. If the result sent by the console is better than what the record shows, the record prevails, and the exam receives a mark that the class teacher (for exams in academic activities) and the IMAGIX platform team can see. The record is deleted 30 days after the exam starts; the score and the exam report remain stored.
